What is a multiplex?
Multiplex is a song with the musical accompaniment, the voice of the backup singers, and the voice of the lead vocal singing the whole song. The voice of the lead vocal can be removed using the right and left channel if you are using a radio or similar devices.

What is a video karaoke?
Video karaoke a.k.a. videoke is the backing tracks version of the song with video background and lyrics. This is what you see when you go to singing rooms and videoke bars. It is very useful to those who do not know the lyrics of the song and as well as the timing.

What are backing tracks, karaoke music, playback, and minus-one?
Backings tracks (a.k.a. karaoke music, playback, and minus-one) are music audio with the musical accompaniment, the voice of the backup singers or an instrument guide, minus the voice of the lead vocal and the lyrics. These tracks are best for professional singers and singing enthusiasts who want to sing the song without singing along with the artist.

What is the difference between backing tracks and video karaoke?
Backing tracks have the musical accompaniment, backing vocals, and/or instrument guide. Video karaoke has the musical accompaniment, backing vocals, and/or instrument guide plus the video background and the lyrics displayed on screen.

What is an MP3?
An MP3 is a compressed audio format which produces high CD quality sound. It is a very small music file suitable for streaming or downloading over the Internet.

What's the difference between MP3 and MIDI?
MP3 has better sound quality than MIDI. MP3 may also contain background vocals, which MIDI cannot have.

What is MP4?
MP4 is a multimedia format commonly used to store digital audio and digital video streams and can also be used to store subtitles and still images.

What is DAT?
DAT is an audio and/or video data file format. This can be read by VCD players or Windows Media Player when you use a personal computer.

Are the lyrics included?
Lyrics are not included in the backing tracks that you purchase, or on the website because this requires separate license. Please use the search tool provided so you could see lyrics websites in the Internet.
The video karaoke, however, displays the lyrics of the song so you could sing along with it.

What specifications are required from an MP4 file for it to play on a video iPod?
The file must be up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.

Why do I have to sign up? What do I get from my Singme! membership?
Users have to sign up for a Singme! account before they can purchase songs. This membership will also allow them to avail of discounts, download freebies, subscribe to newsletters, and participate in promos run by Singme! This will also help the member keep track of his purchase history and redownload the files if needed.

Why do I need to log in?
Logging in is necessary for security purposes. It lets us know who you are and that you really are the person you are claiming to be. We need to know this so that we can credit and debit your account properly.

Which MP3 players/applications/programs are compatible with Singme! backing tracks?
Singme! music are in MP3 format so they are compatible with bulky MP3 CD players, iPod, Sony PSP, music-capable phones, pocket pc, and all portable MP3 players in the market. You can play these backing tracks in your computer using music programs/applications like Windows Media, WinAmp, Real Player, iTunes application, etc.

Which video players/applications/programs are compatible with Singme! video karaoke?
Singme! video karaoke comes in two formats: MP4 and DAT. MP4 can be played on portable mp4 players, mp4-supported phones, and on your computer using programs/applications such as iTunes, QuickTime, WinAmp, etc. The DAT file can also be played on your computer using Windows Media Player and on your VCD player connected to the television.

Do you have a list of portable devices that support Singme! MP3 karaoke music?
There are three main types of devices that support MP3 music: (1) MP3 CD Players, (2) Flash-based players, and (3) Hard Drive-based players or Digital Jukeboxes.
MP3 CD Players are devices that play CDs. They can be used to play audio CDs that contain MP3 or other digital files. Flash based players on the other hand are devices that hold digital audio files on internal or external media such as memory cards. Finally, hard drive-based players are devices that read digital audio files from a hard drive and have higher capacities than flash-based players (i.e. Apple iPod, Creative Zen). How big are the files and how much time will it take to download them?
File sizes vary: Backing track is around 5mb; the video DAT file is around 30MB; and the MP4 is 20MB. Downloading time also varies, depending on the Internet connection that the user has.

What will happen to the music I downloaded to my PC if I cancel my membership?

What is the difference between CD+G and Singme! video karaoke?
CD+G stands for compact disc plus graphics. It is an audio disc that contains graphics and audio data. Video karaoke a.k.a. videoke is the backing tracks version of the song with video background and lyrics. The video background that appear in Singme!’s videokes has better quality since it has the makings of real music video.

Is it true that I can view the lyrics of the song when I use iPod Nano?
Yes. If you are using iPod Nano or Video iPod, all you have to do is to copy the lyrics of the song, go to your iTunes library and find that song, right click and choose Get Info, choose Lyrics, paste the lyrics of the song, and click OK. Update your iPod.
Once your iPod is updated, play the song and click on the center button three times. The song will continue playing but you will be able to see the lyrics on the screen. Touch the wheel towards the right to scroll down.

Troubleshooting Issues

My song has a glitch in it. What should I do?
We quality check our songs before uploading them on to our website. Should you find a glitch, please try to download the file again, for this must be due to download error. If it’s still there, please email us at customercare@singme.com and we will revise the track if needed.

I can’t play the video. The message error says the file format is not supported. What should I do?
You can go to http://www.download.com to download video converters so you could convert the file into a format supported by the application you are using. Apple iPod and Sony PSP support .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats. While a mobile phone supports files with .3gp and .3g2 extensions.
